Dataforth's DSCA High Performance DIN Modules Receive Latest ATEX Certification

Dataforth's product family of DSCA Isolated Analog Signal Conditioners - except for modules DSCA33-04x and DSCA33-05x - is in conformance with the latest 2019 EN60079-15 standard, and therefore continues to be ATEX compliant for use in hazardous locations.

Dataforth Corporation issued an updated Declaration of Conformity on June 3, 2021, stating that their product family of DSCA Isolated Analog Signal Conditioners - except for modules DSCA33-04x and DSCA33-05x - is in conformance with the latest 2019 EN60079-15 standard, and therefore continues to be ATEX compliant for use in hazardous locations.

The 2019 EN60079-15 standard covers explosive atmospheres Part 15: equipment protection by type of protection 'n', following the provisions of Directive 2014/34/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonization of the laws of the Member States relating to equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The DSCA series is designed for data acquisition, test/measurement, and control system applications. It consists of 16 family groups with a total of 376 models. Each DSCA high performance DIN signal conditioner provides a single channel of isolated analog input or output.

Input modules accept analog voltage or current signals from all types of field sensors and sources, then filter, isolate, amplify, linearize, and convert them to high-level analog outputs for use in data acquisition, test and measurement, and control system applications.

Output modules accept high-level analog voltage signals from a system, then buffer, isolate, filter, and amplify them before providing current or voltage output to field devices.

Dataforth's DSCA high performance DIN modules are considered components for use in larger systems and end users are recommended to provide an appropriate enclosure for all modules for full hazardous location compliance and optimal EMC performance.

For ATEX conformance in the Declaration of Conformity, the modules were derated from the published value of 1500Vrms to 320Vrms max continuous CMV and the DSCA49-xx products must be operated at Ta = +75°C max.
