Microchip Technology released the PIC18-Q41 and AVR DB MCU families, combining analog peripherals and multi-voltage operation with inter-peripheral connections. The families were developed for system integration and reduced signals acquisition times.

The PIC18-Q41 MCU includes a configurable Op Amp and ADC with computation and DACs. Further, it’s offered in 14- and 20-pin packages. It also couples well with the company’s 32-bit MCUs.

The AVR DB MCU was developed to eases the challenges of mixed-signal IoT systems that often include multiple power domains. Per the company, the MCU comes with addition of three independent and highly configurable Op Amps, a 12-bit differential ADC, 10-bit DAC, three zero cross detectors, and Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs).

Both families are support by Microchip’s MPLAB X Integrated Development Environment (IDE), its MPLAB Code Configurator (MCC), and the MPLAB Mindi Analog Simulator.

The MCC is a software plug-in that provides a graphical interface with the ability to configure peripherals and functions specific to a given application. In addition to this, Atmel START, Atmel Studio, and third-party tools supports the AVR DB. The MCC and START assist both analog and digital designers to configure an Op Amp system through a GUI with no coding required.
