Diodes USB Type-C Port Switch Supports Legacy Analog, Data Signals

A crosstalk rejection of -85 dB at 30 kHz ensures minimal interference between data and audio channels.

Diodes released the PI3A6386 USB Type-C multimedia port switch that supports legacy analog and data peripherals. For instance, USB 2.0 or 3.5 mm audio signals can be passed through USB Type-C to extend the life of existing peripherals. A crosstalk rejection of -85 dB at 30 kHz ensures minimal interference between data and audio channels.

The CMOS-based PI3A6386 port switches provide high-quality audio without noise or signal distortion, and an ON resistance of 1Ω. The devices include an autonomous microphone and ground line switching. Programmable soft-start and soft-stop eliminates the popping associated with DC-coupled audio signals.

Other features include:

  • Support for USB Type-C Audio Accessory Mode, as well as USB 2.0 HS and FS signals
  • Total Harmonic Distortion of -110 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a 2V RMS signal running into a 32Ω load
  • Accepts supply voltages of 1.7V to 5.5V, with the ability to process signals of ±3V
  • TQFN-24 packaging
