Leopard Imaging announced it is collaborating with Socionext and AWS to deliver EdgeTuring, an AI processing solution for video analytics.

The purpose of the solution is to produce enhanced image quality and efficiency for AI inference nodes.

According to a company press release, using Socionext’s SC2000 image signal processor and the Hailo-8™ M.2 AI acceleration module, Leopard Imaging’s EdgeTuring™ consumes less power, performs at a higher level, and ensures greater reliability for video analytics and privacy at the edge than alternative solutions. Leveraging AWS services such as Amazon Kinesis Video Streams and Amazon Kinesis Data Streams (Amazon KDS), EdgeTuring™ creates a seamless experience for customers to stream and analyze videos using a simple internet connection.

Hailo-8 allows for integration of AI capabilities of 26 Tera Operations Per Second (TOPS) into edge devices, which provides a flexible solution for accelerating deep learning applications.

AWS will provide coverage and redundant networking, allowing EdgeTuring to couple together the advantages of edge computing and cloud computing.
