Inside Secure releases RISC-V root-of-trust engine

The Programmable Root-of-Trust Engine is a fully integrated, open, and programmable IP block that provides a secure data region within RISC-V system on chips (SoCs).

Aix-en-Provence, France. Inside Secure has released what it claims is the industry’s first RISC-V-based platform security solution, the Silicon IP Programmable Root-of-Trust Engine. The Programmable Root-of-Trust Engine is a fully integrated, open, and programmable IP block that provides a secure data region within RISC-V system on chips (SoCs).

The Silicon IP Programmable Root-of-Trust Engine couples a secure asset store with a complete set of crypto engines, which controls access to and use of cryptographic keys. It is designed to guard against remote software attacks as well as invasive physical attacks, and ensures sensitive data cannot be extracted from the chip.

The Engine also incorporates a secure provisioning technology acquired from SypherMedia to manage a device’s root of trust throughout its lifecycle.
