Actility and Hiber Provide Remote IoT Connectivity
September 06, 2019
LoRaWAN connectivity provider and nano-satellite powered network startup collaborate to open up LoRaWAN to remote and developing parts of the world.
Actility and Hiber have partnered up to help remote areas of the world have access to LoRaWAN connectivity. Hiber global nano-satellite connectivity via the Actility ThingPark Wireless and ThingPark Enterprise LoRaWAN management services will assist IoT service providers and companies operating in desolation.
Hiber generated an interface linking Hiberband with Actility LoRaWAN connectivity and management solutions, enabling critical data collected by IoT sensors to be condensed into LoRaWAN packets and distributed throughout the globe by the Hiberband network.
Some use cases include global logistics, remote agriculture, oil & gas, mining and scientific sectors that can now deploy IoT technology in locations of the Antarctic, deserts or in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
“Actility is excited to collaborate with Hiber and to offer its clients and partners the capability to deploy use cases that require global coverage,” said Actility’s CEO and co-founder, Olivier Hersent.
“This is a really exciting time for Hiber. After launching our first two nano-satellites into the earth’s orbit at the end of last year, we are now about to see our first customers go live with our first-of-its-kind network,” said Hiber’s Managing Director and co-founder, Laurens Groenendijk. “It’s fantastic that we are able to work with Actility to provide critical LoRaWAN connectivity to our customers and we can’t wait to see the benefits that the organizations using our network will bring to the world!”
