MagnaChip Releases New DDIC Products

MagnaChip Semiconductor announced the expansion of its High Frame Rate (HFR) OLED DDIC product line by introducing DDIC products.

MagnaChip Semiconductor announced the expansion of its High Frame Rate (HFR) OLED DDIC product line by introducing DDIC products.

HFR is used to increase the number of frames used per second, thus improving image quality within 5G smartphones.

So far, MagnaChip released five HFR OLDEF smartphone DDIC products. The project, which started in 2018, began with the company developing 120Hz HFR DDIC for FHD+ OLED smartphone displays. By Q2 2019 MagnaChip was the first company to start mass producing, per a company press release.

Now, the HFR OLED devices support 144Hz for FHD+ displays and 120Hz for QHD+ displays.
