The tipping point for powertrain electrification ? electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) ? is in sight with modern lithium-ion batteries able to store and use energy in vehicles at higher power density and lower cost.
