The DCM3717 operates from a 40 - 60V SELV input, is non-isolated and provides a regulated output with a range of 10.0 - 13.5V.
Vicor announced the relase of the DCM5614, a new isolated DC-DC converter. The converter is isolated and regulated at 270V-28V.
Is it better to have lower power levels in more places in the car, as opposed to one centralized place? Hmm, I?m not sure, as I think I can make an argument for either solution.
