GLOBALFOUNDRIES will implement export control security measures at its Malta, NY facility, Fab 8, to bring it into compliance with U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) standards and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Fab 8 is the  company's  most  advanced manufacturing plant, and will become the most advanced ITAR foundry in the country once the proposed measures are in place later this year.

The additional control assurances will include confidentiality and integrity protections available to defense related applications, devices, and components manufactured at Fab 8, which employees nearly 3,000 workers. 

Other GLOBALFOUNDRIES Trusted Facilities capable of supporting secure government programs are Fab 9  in Burlington VT and Fab 10 in East Fishkill NY. Outside of the U.S., the company also has manufacturing facilities in Europe and Singapore.
